Weekly GeeksWeekly Geeks is a weekly book blog community event where participating blogs complete a book- or blog-related activity posted and hosted by Dewey at The Hidden Side of a Leaf.

We’re helping Dewey move! Dewey has quite a substantial list of to-be-reviewed books. We’re to select one (or several) and ask her three questions about the book. I selected Free Food for Millionaires, by Min Jin Lee, because I have been eying this book for a while. Here are my questions:

(1) What was it that brought you to this book? Are you glad you read it? Why would you recommend it (or not) to others?

(2) Do you think everyone can be a “millionaire”? In other words, do you think everyone can live “the American Dream”? How did this book influence your answers to the above questions? Lee has said that she believes everyone is a kind of millionaire because each person possesses innate gifts or talents that make him or her wealthy. What do you think of this idea?

(3) I’m often interested in the structure of a book. This book is divided into three sections: Works, Plans, and Grace. Did the structure reflect the themes of the book? How? How would you describe Lee’s writing style?

Okay, so that is technically a whole lot more than three questions. Oh well.

I really like question #3 – in my opinion the structure of a book is so important to the overall success of a read.
Good Luck!
