My friend brought me the magazine article on Anna K., and how appropriate that I have just finished Anna Karenina. I’ll be looking out for this “Manhattan” version of Anna. :)

Here was my answer to this week’s question, Jessica. It might give you a few ideas on sports books.

Sadly, I won’t be able to respond to your meme with a post, because I just included a new item on my sidebar that explains my “tag at your own peril” policy on memes. But since I’ve just put him (you’ll have to see what I mean) up there, I won’t dispatch him after you. :)

But I’ll be glad to respond to your meme here, with suggestions for you. I even have the comments section here bookmarked with a new program called CoComments that should help me keep track.

I'm a big sports fan, but I'd rather watch it live, or participate myself than read books or watch movies about it. I can't even think of a sports related book I've read recently to share with you. A good book that I will recommend as one to keep your eye on is Bear Any Burden by Ellis Goodman. It's a family epic typecold war thriller that is far and away the best book I've read so far this summer. I think Goodman is definitely going to be an author to watch.

Sorry, but I can’t list any book titles that you MUST read. However, I do encourage you to watch Michael Phelps as he swims toward the unbelievable goal of taking 8 out of 8 gold medals–a perfect Olympian. (I hope he makes it.)
