I have only read about half of Breaking Dawn, last night. I bought the entire series, after my niece (16) and I rented the movie. This happened Thursday, and today is Monday. I know, it’s taking too long. I actually thought about skipping work today to finish it… But that’s not why I’m here. Stephanie Meyer is an amazing writer. Writing from Jacob’s view must have been fun, he’s very…blunt. I just wanted to say, it’s helped me this weekend though, I’ve had something to keep my mind busy through a rough family loss. So, just counting down the days for my birthday…which happens to be the release of the movie “New Moon”. Thanks for my birthday present!!!!

Great review Jessica. I liked the Jacob book – it was interesting to see the story from the viewpoint of another character for a change. Meyer set herself a huge task with this book – perhaps that is why the book itself is huge – but I think all in all she did a good job.

I just finished this one last night and was disappointed–I kept hoping it would get better. I know that they’re books for teens and that teens generally aren’t discriminating about what they read (when they read–and come to think of it, neither are a lot of adults), but that’s no excuse for the sloppy reliance on dialogue to further the plot, which is my biggest pet peeve with the whole series.
