I did it. I joined it. I’m going to be participating in Dewey’s 24-hour read-a-thon. I heard such great things about last October’s event and watched April’s event from afar with envy. Now, I’m in.

I’ll be compiling a reading list here soon. I’m so excited! Do you want to play too?

Freadom Banned Books Week
September 29 – October 6, 2008

In case you are living under a rock and haven’t heard yet, this week is Banned Books Week. For a list of banned and challenged books check this one out. For my personal contribution to the festivities, I’m reading Obscene in the Extreme: The Burning and Banning of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, by Rick Wartzman.

How are you celebrating your right to read?

I am reviewing three books on the Banned Book List. The first is the Da Vinci Code which is already posted. Stay tuned for more.

I wish I could do the read-a-thon! Boo hoo. For banned books week I’m reading and reviewing one banned book a day. But their short, so far I’ve been able to manage.

Bluestocking – I’ll keep an eye out for your BBW postings. I doesn’t surprise me at all that people tried to have The Da Vinci Code banned.

Natasha – Thanks for the comment. You’ve been having quite the month! I’m impressed with your commitment to BBW. Maybe you’ll be able to do the read-a-thon in April.
