Wonderful review! I have both this and Bel Canto on my TBR. I didn't know one of the character's name's was Teddy. Hm who else do we know by that name, except I'm a female. LOL!

SmallWorld Reads - While I don't think Run was as good as Bel Canto, it's still a really good read. I love Ann Patchett!

Meghan - I agree with you about the layers. There is so much to discuss in Run. Ann Patchett is really gifted.

Chartroose - Let me know what you think!

Matt - I've heard of people that tear out (or ignore) that last chapter. I'm still undecided about it.

Jessica - I've added a link to your review. I hope the Blue Leaf helped with your book club discussion.

Becca - I'm glad that you concur. Thanks for stopping by.

I just finished this last week and wrote a brief review here: http://mangomissives.wordpress.com/2008/09/25/reads-run/

I have a RL book club for it next week. I can't wait to see what the other group members think. I'll bring your Blue Leaf.

Bel Canto really shines until I get to the ending, which ruins the book for me. But I'll give Run a go. Great review!

I'm reading Bel Canto soon - after all this about Ann Patchett, I really have to!

I love the layers in this book and the fact that you can read it so many ways and really think about it - but it's still accessible and enjoyable if you just want to read the surface. To me, that's one of the signs of a great writer.

Thanks for the review. I loved Bel Canto and have a scribbled "more Ann Patchett books" on my TBR notebook!
