The book blog community has suffered a tremendous loss. Dewey from The Hidden Side of a Leaf has passed away. I’m just so shocked. I echo the sentiments of others when I say that the book blog community will never be the same without her.
I remember when I started this blog, I felt a little lost. Then I found The Hidden Side of Leaf (and others) and found instant community. In fact, that was no accident. Dewey was always coming up with some new way to build up and intergrate this book blog community of ours. From the Bookworms Carnival and the 24-Hour Read-a-Thon to the Weekly Geeks and the Christmas Swap, Dewey was unflagging in her efforts to bring us all together. She will be missed, but I hope her sense of community will carry on.

She was definitely a Queen among book bloggers.
My thoughts are with her family. She will be missed.
I am so sad. Unfortunately, I only recently discovered The Hidden Side of the Leaf. She will definitely be missed.
Thanks for the post. This is the second or third time I have read this today. Thoughts for her family and the blogging community who will miss her dearly.
I, too, hope we can carry on that sense of community she so amazingly created.
A tremendous loss indeed. Find her blog also helped me feel at home in this community. She had a way of doing that.
I miss her already!
It’s so hard to beleive she’s gone. I do think will keep the stong community that Dewey played a big part in building, but it will be with a big part missing.
I also wrote a little tribute on my blog. She will be greatly missed!
I just found out tonight about Dewey’s passing, but am shocked (although I knew she was in ill health because she had hinted at it a few times, but still…). She will be truly missed. I know that’s cliche to say, but so true.
If it weren’t for her, and I will be saying this several times in several places, I wouldn’t have met all of the people I have met in the book blogging community, including you.
