I just moved a couple of weeks ago, so last night was my inaugural trip to my local library. I got all registered and received my library card. (It still gives me a thrill to get a new library card.) It is a very new library that has only been open for about four months, so their collection is small. Still, the patronage is also small, so I got several books I really wanted to read. So, with no further ado, here’s my loot from the library this week:

- Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, by Jonathan Safran Foer
- The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson, edited by Thomas Herbert Johnson
- The Hour I First Believed, by Wally Lamb
- Hattie Big Sky, by Kirby Larson
(I’ll bet the hold list for The Hour I First Believed is 50 people long at my old, more established library.)

Wow. The hold list for The Hour I First Believed is incredibly long at my library as well, I’m impressed it was just there on the shelf..
Our local library is a branch of a big system and it’s small, but it has tons of patrons.
Glad to see someone reading poetry now and again!
That’s some great library loot! The hold list at my local branch for The Hour I First Believed is really, really long, too :)
I love Emily Dickinson. I bought a book of her poems in college – it was one of the few books I bought that was not for my classes.
The hold list for The Hour I First Believed is impossibly long here as well. I didn’t even get in the queue.
Thank you for joining Library Loot! I hope you enjoy Emily Dickinson.
