The Michael L. Printz Award is an award given by the ALA to books that exemplify excellence in young adult literature.
I’ve been doing the “Printz Project” for a while now. I’ve been listing it as one of my challenges, just like the official Pulitzer Project and the official Newbery Project. I’ve never been able to find an official website for the “Printz Project,” but I figured there had to be one. Then Suey from It’s All About Books said she couldn’t find an official challenge site either. We decided to remedy this hole in the book blogosphere by jointly hosting the Printz Project. Consider this my official entry.
We’ve put together a fully functional website to host this perpetual challenge to read all of the Printz Award-winners and honor books. Head on over to the Printz Project site to sign up for the challenge. We’ve set up a separate post for each of the books, so if you’ve already read and reviewed some of them, make sure to add your links.
Also, check out Suey’s post introducing the Printz Project. We’re so excited to be embarking on this perpetual challenge with you. Stay tuned for a more traditional mini-challenge to spur us along.

GOOD FOR YOU! I’ll wander over and see if I’ve ever read any Printz winners (I think I have but I can’t name any.)
This is such an awesome idea!
I love it! These award winners definitely deserve their own official challenge site. Thanks for doing this!
Care – I had read more than I thought I had.
Nymeth – Thanks! And thanks for promoting the project on your blog.
Kelly – I love the Printz books!
