I was zero for three on my my last batch of library books. So, I went to the library yesterday to just look. And, of course, I came home with four books. Luckily, most of them are for challenges, and I managed to read The Midwife’s Apprentice last night before bed. Here’s my loot from the library this week:
- The Midwife’s Apprentice, by Karen Cushman – For the Newbery Project
- Nation, by Terry Pratchett – For the Printz Project
- We Have Always Lived in the Castle, by Shirley Jackson
- The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, by E. Lockhart – For the Printz Project

I read ‘Nation’ in April and found it really good! I hope you enjoy it. I had to bring Frankie Landau-Banks back unread. I really need more hours in the day because I am sort of crashing and dying on keeping up with my library books.
I just finished The Midwife’s Apprentice too!
I really want to read The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks!
I know that feeling. I’m so addicted to the library.
I’ve heard Nation is a good book. I’ve not yet read anything by Terry Pratchett. I should do that soon.
Excellent loot! I loved Nation and We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
Less time reading = more time with me. Do the math.
I’ve been wanting to pick up both Nation and We Have Lived in the Castle but I’ve got too many books checked out from the library already :) I’ll get them soon though!
I read “Nation” and “The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks” recently and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Now I kind of want to read “We Have Always Lived in the Castle” based on that cover alone!
Nation and We Have Always Lived in the Castle are both great!
I can’t wait to hear what you think about Frankie!
