BBAW Giveaway

in Book Events,Giveaways

In honor of BBAW, I’m holding a giveaway!

Wally Lamb’s most recent book, The Hour I First Believed, was recently released in paperback. And, thanks to the nice people over at Harper, I have a copy to giveaway. (And trust me, I was very tempted to keep this.)

I read this book in March and really enjoyed it. Check out my review of The Hour I First Believed for a brief plot summary and more of my thoughts.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post with a link to your favorite (so far) BBAW post. Also, tell me a little about the post you’ve selected and how you discovered it. Random.org will select a winner on Friday, September 18, 2009. Sorry, I can only ship to U.S. and Canadian addresses.  Good luck!

The posts that have been my favourite so far have been the ones where people have talked about their favourite blogs. Through these posts, I’ve found so many new blogs that I know I’m going to love (your included). I particularly enjoyed this one: http://chikune.com/blog/?p=1549
It’s on Medieval Bookworm’s blog which I’ve been following for a while in my google reader.

Even though this post is a few months old, I feel that it represents my feelings and the feelings of many others about the world of literary blogging. Sometimes it is like high school and the world of ins and outs where we compare ourselves to one another. Other times it is a world of inclusivity and intense friendships with intense support and love. I find this post to be most reflective of my world. I found this post as I was reading through my Google reader subscriptions and marked it as a favorite awhile ago. Here is the link to this post:

I would love to read this book by Wally Lamb. I have read many of his other books and enjoyed them all. So I look forward to reading this one.

Thanks for the giveaway.

How can I pick one post???? I have been spending ALL my free time this week checking out my favorite book blogs and visiting new blogs. At this point I have added approximately 30 new blogs to my favorites list and it’s only Wednesday! Do I have time foir this? NO! This is always a busy week for me every year so BBAW has made it even busier. Who could guess how MANY interesting book blogs are out there?

I’m enjoying BBAW! Drey’s Library’s BBAW Reading Meme caught my attention because of her format and using that bright blue color for her responses!

It’s hard to pick a post just off the top of the head, but Jenner’s comment about carrots and celery in her post earlier today made me laugh.

I like this post:

It’s short and sweet, but I love Kristi (the writer of the blog) and it was kind of cool to get in her head a little bit and it’s crazy she orders her books by author’s last name. I mean, that’s awesome, but I wouldn’t be able to do that!!

I’ve really been wanting to read this book.

My favorite BBAW posts have been the interview swaps. In particular I enjoyed Natalie at Book Line and Sinker and Amy at Amy Reads Good Books with their Proust Questionnaire format. Here is the Link

I think doing and reading the interviews was my favorite.

I just discovered your blog today, from Loren Eaton’s blog. Anyway, does saying yours is my new fave count? :)

I hope “a favourite” rather than “the favourite” is close enough: http://www.thingsmeanalot.com/2009/09/summer-book-by-tove-jansson-with-thank.html

It’s a review of The Summer Book by Tove Jansson, and I liked it because the book not only made it to my list of books to read but made me go request it from my library right away. I discovered it because I regularly read Nymeth’s blog.

Alice, I am posting the same link! http://findyournextbookhere.blogspot.com/2009/09/bbaw-daily-prompt-reading-meme.html
The honest mention of chocolate had me cracking up! I have been blog hopping all week and have found some new blogs that I can’t wait to keep coming back to, BBAW has been so much fun. :)

It’s one I’ve just recently found (through the BBAW site’s Mr Linky) this link http://mel-reading-corner.blogspot.com/2009/09/my-kick-off-bbaw-post-favourite-books.html …I like lists of people’s favorite books but especially this one because I’ve read a few of those books and enjoyed them, just bought another one, have some on my to-read list….and then some I don’t know about :)
