After taking a bit of a break from BTT, I couldn’t resist today’s fun question:
What’s the most enjoyable, most fun, most just-darn-entertaining book you’ve read recently?
I, like any bibliophile, have a couple of responses to this apparently simple question. I just read and really enjoyed And Only To Deceive, by Tasha Alexander. It’s a fun historical fiction book that takes place in Victorian England. It was mostly a popcorn-type book, with relatively little substance, but I enjoyed the experience and the mystery.
I also recently read Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury. This book was surprisingly entertaining, with a lot of depth to boot. And, it’s about books!
This question also made me reflect on my reading. I rarely left myself read the just plain darn entertaining books. I’m always reading for challenges and blog tours, which are great, but I need to remember to just pick up a book because I feel like it every once in a while.

I haven’t heard of either of these. Here is mine
I love Tasha Alexander!! Have you read the others yet? Tears of Pearl just came out– it’s the 4th!
Exactly! Books are for fun! :)
Since I’ve started blogging, I’ve kind of run into the same problem ie reading books I feel I need to rather then just picking up a book on a whim. I need to just go for it every so often because it can break up the monotony.
Yep, I agree. We need to read book sometimes just for the fun factor!
You’re completely right that we need to remember to pick up a book just for the fun of it sometimes! :)
