R.I.P. Challenge

Challenge: Peril the Second – Read 2 Books
Status: 0/2

___________________________________________

Who can resist Carl’s annual Readers Imbibing Peril Challenge? I know I can’t. Last year I had a blast reading my R.I.P. selections.

Head over to the challenge post for a rundown on the challenge options. I’m doing Peril the Second this year, which entails reading at least two books from any subgenre of scary stories.

Here’s my reading pool:
Dracula, by Bram Stoker
Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier
Something Wicked This Way Comes, by Ray Bradbury
On the Night of the Seventh Moon, by Victoria Holt
We Have Always Lived in the Castle, by Shirley Jackson
Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen

I can’t wait to get started!

I love your choices! I haven’t read On the Night of the Seventh Moon, but the others are all awesome.

Those are all so great! I’ve read several of them and sincerely want to read the rest. Well done!!!

Great to have you back again for more this year. :)

Excellent group of books! If you can only read two, I vote for Rebecca and We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Both rather chilling (but not too scary!).

Rebecca and Dracula, what a fantastic list.

The ending of Rebecca, which I just finished as I’m typing, knocks me by a feather. Du Maurier knows what she’s doing!

I loved both Rebecca and Northanger Abbey. Great choices!

I’ve started Dracula too!
