Okay, it’s time to throw a little reminder out there to the blogosphere about the lovely perpetual challenge to read each of the eleven books (so far) that have won the Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. The Printz Award is a relatively new award that goes along with the Caldecott Medal (picture books) and the Newbery Medal (middle grade fiction). The Printz Project has its own perpetual home where Suey of It’s All About Books and I cohost.
Here’s a list of the eleven winners to whet your Printz passions (links are to my reviews):
2010 – Going Bovine, by Libba Bray
2009 – Jellicoe Road, by Melina Marchetta
2008 – The White Darkness, by Geraldine McCaughrean
2007 – American Born Chinese, by Gene Luen Yang
2006 – Looking for Alaska, by John Green
2005 – How I Live Now, by Meg Rosoff
2004 – The First Part Last, by Angela Johnson
2003 – Postcards from No Man’s Land, by Aidan Chambers
2002 – A Step from Heaven, by An Na
2001 – Kit’s Wilderness, by David Almond
2000 – Monster, by Walter Dean Myers
Also, be sure to check out the full list of winners and honor books. The honor books include such lovely tomes as The Book Thief, Speak, and An Abundance of Katherines, to name just a few.
Are you convinced? Are you ready to read along? Have you read a few of these already? Head on over to the Printz Project site and take a look around. We’d love to read along with you.

Well, I’ve read six of the eleven. That’s pretty good, right? Eh, I’ll work on it. Slowly, of course :)

Melissa – Six of eleven is great! That’s why it’s a perpetual challenge. There’s plenty of time to get there!
