Book Blog Recommendations

July 7, 2010

in Memes & Miscellany

Okay, I have a list of favorite blogs that I read religiously. I also have a pretty full Google Reader with many other blogs I check in on on a regular basis. However, I feel like I haven’t discovered any new blogs for a while, so I’m looking to you.

What is your favorite book blog (or two or three)?

What delightful book blog(s) have you discovered recently?

There are too many to name, but I love Booking Mama, Find Your Next Book Here, You’ve GOTTA Read This, Rhapsody in Books and many, many more.

Well, I’m rather fond of this one.

Kathy – Thanks for the recommendations. I hadn’t heard of a couple of those. I’ll go check them out.

Loren – Thanks. :) I’m fond of yours too.

Wisteria Leigh – I know it’s mean to ask people to pick their favorites. Do you perhaps a new blog you’ve discovered lately that you enjoy?

Julie – Thanks for stopping by! I do love your blog, especially your book club related posts.

I’m on your list, too? Sweet! I mean, thanks! ;-)

I have lots of blogs I love, but for non-fiction I’m a big fan of Sophisticated Dorkiness.

My favorites that haven’t been listed include:

-A Work in Progress (http://danitorres.typepad.com/)
Well-written reviews on classical/British literature (among other literary works), this is one of the first blogs I check for new posts in my Reader.

-Color Online (http://coloronline.blogspot.com/)
Reviews and notices about upcoming books concentrating on women writers of color over a range of genres. Love checking this one for something out of the ordinary to read, different points of view, etc.

-Three Percent (http://www.rochester.edu/College/translation/threepercent/)
Concentrates on international literature. I’ve been trying to read more translated works lately…

Although I have over 100 book blogs in my feed reader, I have a much smaller folder entitled “Favorite Blogs” that I always give priority to. The Bluestocking Society is in that favorite folder, along with about 10 other blogs that consistently give book recommendations that always turn out to be winners from me. I only wish the publishers knew how many books you all have “sold” to me over the years! :)

Softdrink – I love your blog! And thanks for the recommendation. I haven’t checked in on SK since last year’s Blog Improvement Project. I’ll go check it out.

M – Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll go check those out.

Michele – Aww. Shucks. Thanks for keeping tabs on me. I, too, spend a lot of money on books recommended by the book blogosphere. :)

There are some new ones to me on your list so thanks for the recommendations! And most of my favs are on your list already! I have a TON of book blogs in my Google Reader so choosing any more would be too difficult! But, thanks, for your list!
