R.I.P. VII

R.I.P. VII

September 1, 2012 – October 31, 2012

Ahhh, it’s just about my favorite time of year . . . fall. I love the cool air and pumpkin patches and R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril hosted by Carl of Stainless Steel Droppings.

The purpose of R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VII is to enjoy books and movies/television that could be classified (by you) as:

Mystery.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.
Or anything sufficiently moody that shares a kinship with the above.

There are a number of perils (i.e. levels of participation). I am embarking on Peril the Second, which requires me to read just two R.I.P. books from now through the end of October.

This is my fifth year participating in R.I.P., so I just went through my previous R.I.P. posts. Both Northanger Abbey and Dracula have made my list numerous times. I am determined to read Northanger Abbey this year and at least one more from this list:

  • Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen
  • Dracula, by Bram Stoker
  • The Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare (reread)
  • The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde
  • Murder on the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie
  • And hopefully a little Edgar Allen Poe

I hope you’ll join us!
