December Total = 8
Year-to-Date Total = 105
Let’s see. I think Code Name Verity is my pick of the month.
The Highland Book Club did not meet this month. Next up is Missing Susan, by Sharyn McCrumb.
The Third Thursday Book Club read Unwind, by Neal Shusterman in December. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. There were too many things that kept pulling me out of the story. We also had a book exchange as part of our fun holiday meeting. In January, we’re reading one of my favorite books, The History of Love, by Nicole Krauss.
I read one Newbery Honor book this month: Hope was Here.
The Pulitzer Project – 11/85
The Printz Project – 8/13 (+7 Honor books)
The Newbery Project – 25/91 (+12 honor books)
- I posted my 2012 Top 10 List earlier this month. And I picked The Night Circus as my favorite read of the year. I also posted about my 2012 rereads.
- In an effort to catch up, I posted a ton of reviews: The Secret Keeper, The Middlesteins, Astray, Micro-Reviews Audio Edition, and a round of Mini-Reviews.
- Also, much to my excitement, The Morning News announced the finalists for the 2013 Tournament of Books. I’m busily tracking them down to read them before the tournament begins in March. Squee!
That’s it. That’s what happened in December. Thanks to everyone who stopped by my blog this month!

Wow what a year of reading you had! Totally blew away your goal – do you think it was because of the audio books? I am surprised I didn’t add more page count but only because I read so many chunksters this year. Apparently I read a lot of very short books, too.
Off to go see the Tournament of Books list…
Thanks, Care. It was definitely due in part to audio books. My best reading year before this was 85 books with no audio books. And this year I hit 105 books with 19 audio books. Coincidence? I think not. :)
