Gift Idea: The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas
I received this book for free from the publisher. All content and opinions are my own.
It’s been almost 50 years since A Charlie Brown Christmas originally aired in 1965, but it has undoubtedly withstood the test of time. This book, A Charlie Brown Christmas: The Making of a Tradition, is an awesome pick for the fans of the special on your Christmas list.
The Making of a Tradition covers all of the aspects of the making of the original Christmas special, including a look at Charles Schultz, of course, as the creator of the characters and the writer of the show, as well as Lee Mendelson, the producer, Bill Melendez, the animator, and Vince Guaraldi, the composer. Plus, there are original storyboards, production sheets, music compositions, and an illustrated script.
There are also great behind-the-scenes anecdotes and cool graphics with original advertisements and interesting facts. The other night, I meant to just flip through the book to see what it had in it, and I ended up reading almost the whole thing.
In all, this is a great gift book for the Peanuts lover in your life.
